Serving Around Camp & Locally
Students will serve on a weekly rotation, meeting the daily needs of camp and learning the value of steady, faithful service. They will also get connected with local ministries, branching outside of Camp and learning the importance of serving beyond familiar spaces, building relationships, and making a tangible difference in the local community.
This Includes:
Hospitality for weekend groups
Getting connected with a local church
Global Mission Trip
In late winter, the team will travel to Honduras, working with Just One International, for a week-long mission trip. This opportunity expands their vision allowing them to serve cross-culturally and experience the joy of sharing Christ’s love outside the United States. It’s a chance to step out of their comfort zone and step into God’s global mission.
When: Feb 21-27, 2027
Note: A valid passport is required prior to the start of the Gap Year. Your passport must not expire within six months of the trip’s start date.
Summer Staff Leadership
The Gap Year Program concludes with students stepping into leadership as part of The Woods’ summer staff. Whether serving as a counselor, leading high ropes, directing the waterfront, or guiding teams of peers, they’ll finish the year not just as learners but as leaders. This experience allows them to put into practice their growth from the past year and grow in leadership first hand.
